WILLIAMSBURG, Iowa (Gray Media Iowa State Capitol Bureau) – Brad Sherman, a former one-term state representative and longtime pastor from Williamsburg, has announced his Republican campaign for governor for the 2026 election. Governor Kim Reynolds, also a Republican, has not yet announced her re-election plans.
Sherman’s campaign released a statement on Monday confirming that he is running and that he plans to hold a campaign event Saturday at the Mason City airport.
The statement said, “The foundational values upon which our liberties rest have been dangerously undermined and now we’re at a crossroads. As Governor, I will work hard to restore the foundations of freedom and stand for the constitutional rights of every individual, ensuring that Iowa remains a welcoming place for faith, families, and thriving businesses.”
Sherman also mentioned his loyalty to Donald Trump in his campaign announcement.
