Sherman Thanks Governor Reynolds For Serving Iowans, Now Sole Republican Candidate For Governor
Williamsburg, Iowa: On Friday, April 11, 2025, Governor Kim Reynolds announced she will not seek re-election. Former Representative, Businessman, and Pastor Brad Sherman is the only Republican candidate running for Governor of the State of Iowa in 2026.
Brad Sherman shared his thanks to the Governor for serving the state, “Governor Kim Reynolds has served Iowa well during her time as Governor, Lt Governor, and State Senator. I want to sincerely thank her for her many years of service to our state and its people. During my time in the state legislature, I appreciated the opportunity to work alongside Governor Reynolds to advance conservative policies and defend Iowa values. I wish her and her family all the best as they enter this next chapter.”
As the only declared Republican candidate for Governor, Sherman emphasized his readiness to step into the role and carry forward a bold conservative vision for Iowa. Sherman is running on addressing the mental health crisis in Iowa, defending private property rights against eminent domain abuse, strengthening Iowa’s education from the bottom up, and revitalizing rural Iowa, among other top issues.
“I am running to serve the people of Iowa with courage, clarity, and common sense. With Governor Reynolds stepping aside, I am fully prepared to lead our party into the next chapter,” said Sherman. “I’m proud to announce a growing slate of legislative endorsements and a surge of grassroots momentum from every corner of the state.”
Brad stands ready to run and win for Iowa with a dedicated base of support behind him, having already secured dozens of endorsements from state legislators, county elected officials, and Republican Party activists, which will be announced in the coming days.
